Eastern National Professional Development Days

March 3-4, 2014 – Ottawa, Canada

We at Navvia are great supporters of the ITSM community! Meet our team at the Eastern National Professional Development Days in Ottawa, March 3-4, 2014.

ITIL® has shifted focus to the Service Lifecycle, putting more emphasis on Continual Improvement acknowledging other frameworks and standards like Lean IT, CobiT® and :  ISO/IEC 20000; IT Service Management is no longer synonymous with ITIL, but with this growing set of best practices.

This two-day event is brought to you by itSMF Canada in partnership with itSMF Ottawa-Gatineau branch and the HDI Ottawa. There are 3 tracks planned with presentations on Lean, Governance and Leadership plus four 2-hour workshops. Attendance at the event will qualify for 15 PDUs.


LEAN – Lean is all about maximizing the availability of all your resources and technologies, with the focus of helping organizations to continuously improve sets of processes and the elimination of waste in our daily environment.

GOVERNANCE – Governance is who is responsible, who has ownership, and who makes decisions for which decisions. To be successful in today‘s business world, IT management needs to embrace the challenge of establishing best practice processes and controls, thus allowing for better cost of ownership and return on information metrics.

LEADERSHIP – Our IT industry is being impacted by many forces outside of our control. Lower cost of technology, lower cost of communication, younger more tech savvy users, BYOD, cloud computing and the list goes on. Our leaders have a virtual minefield to maneuver in and have to find answers to questions that have not even been asked yet.

WORKSHOP – Four 2-hour workshops delivered by industry leaders. Workshop topics will cover lean, governance, leadership and service management. Participants can register into workshops at the conference venue.

MEET and GREET – Meet and network at our Gala Station following a full day of breakout sessions and workshops. Take the opportunity to meet and speak with local and international professionals about trends in the industry.
